Birth Doula FAQs

  • A birth doula is a trained non-medical professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to families throughout their pregnancy, labor, and birth experiences.

I work with families to teach childbirth education as well as answering your questions throughout pregnancy and birth. My role is to help alleviate the stress and fear of the unknown by educating you and preparing you for your birth experience. I provide hands-on support during the labor process and most of all I am there to hold space for you and your family by listening to you and your wishes. My goal is to help you feel confident in your birthing decisions by providing you evidence-based resources and information to help you come to a decision that feels right for you and your family.

  • I support all kinds of births! Hospital, Home, Medicated, Unmedicated & C-section! I believe that all births are beautiful and all moms deserve emotional and physical support they prepare to bring their baby earthside. The only birth I will not attend is a voluntary free birth.

  • No! The role of a doula is to help support both you and your partner! Birth can be overwhelming and having extra support from someone who is knowledgeable with experience in the birth world can help partners to feel at ease. Additionally, I can help with showing your partner hands-on way to support and comfort you while in labor.

  • I am certified through Childbirth International (CBI) and have completed the training hours and birth attendance requirements.

  • For virtual, anywhere! For in-person support the client must be based in eastern NC (New Bern, Jacksonville, Greenville, Morehead City and surrounding areas).
